To remember tributaries of River Periyar
Cheruthoni is the main tributary of Periyar river, the longest river in Kerala. The name Cheruthoni is more commonly known for the land with the same name as the Idukki Dam and Cheruthoni Dam. These dams and Kulamavu dam are formed by Idukki Hydro Projects.Muthirapuzha is one of the tributaries of river Periyar. This river flows in Munnar, a major tourist attraction of Kerala. The name of Munnar is derived from the confluence of three tributaries. These three rivers are Muthirappuzha, Nilthathani, and Kundala
